Stanley Spencer was often seen around the village dragging an old pram containing his portable studio.In the gallery there is a photograph of him coming out of a village newsagent. This painting is my modern equivalent. The jars and tins took as long to paint as the portrait of the beautiful shop owner, Mandy Braar.
